Circles of ShantiMaya

Third Album: Circles of Shantimaya

our third album has now been released, in a year of relative quiet while the world passes in its eternal karmic and cosmic cycle.

“Circles of ShantiMaya”was recorded in late 2022 through 2023 and  consists of chants that we have led in kirtan circles, as well as some meditations on the mala.  it is dedicated to the karmic cycle of life, death, and life again.  we celebrate the avatars of lord vishnu, the tough love of shiva / shakti, and reflect on our own mortality . . . or not.  perhaps we are in the place where everyone passes in circles.

we are thrilled to be accompanied once more by  steve gorn (master bansuri flautist), by the angelic vocals and harp of shannon kingsbury, and by the soothing baritone of jefferson guzman.

we would like to specially acknowledge the valuable insight and critique we received from our bhakti brethren joe ronco and seàn johnson

Circles of Shantimaya is dedicated to the karmic cycle of life, death, and life again. it begins with the maha mrityunjaya, the mantra of immortality, and continues with meditations on the cycles of life through shiva / kali, the celebrated avatars of vishnu, and meditations on the mantra of fullness, an ode to hanuman, servant of rama, and concludes with a meditation on our own journey into mortality
many of these chants we have led through kirtan circles across canada, the united states and europe.  some of them are new.
we bow to the artists who honoured us by participating in our project.  thank-you to steve gorn for the ethereal sounds of his bansuri flute, shannon kingsbury for her unearthly harp and vocal contributions, jefferson guzman for his anchoring baritone, and our beloved brother seàn johnson for his insights and input into this creation
and to all of the beautiful souls we have met on our journey
om shanti shanti shanti!
we will meet again!
